Education and Professional Background

Tom Omondi’s path to becoming an attorney reflects both dedication and purpose. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University, followed by a dual Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria, where he was named the Outstanding Graduate Student. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Before practicing law, Tom spent over 15 years working in healthcare in the Houston area. He began at the bedside, where he provided direct patient care, and then eventually moved into leadership, serving as CEO of a long-term acute care hospital. While attending law school, he continued working nights and weekends as a hospice nurse.

Legal Experience and Case Focus

Tom is licensed to practice law in Texas and focuses on personal injury and medical malpractice cases. His work frequently involves motor vehicle accidents, including car and truck wrecks, as well as complex hospital negligence matters.

Tom has represented clients from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups, from minors to elderly individuals. Over the past 5 years, he has secured millions for his clients. Each case is approached with a commitment to understanding the legal and medical details involved.

A Unique Medical and Legal Perspective

What sets Tom apart is his ability to evaluate cases through both a legal and clinical lens. His background as a registered nurse allows him to interpret medical records, understand treatment decisions, and recognize how injuries affect your life and long-term health.

This dual perspective is especially valuable in cases involving serious or complex injuries, where understanding the medical aspects can be critical to building a well-supported claim that helps you secure the compensation you truly need to move forward. It also allows him to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and experts involved in your case.

Professional Involvement
and Continued Learning

Tom remains actively engaged in the legal community to stay current with developments in his field. He is a member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association (HTLA) Board of Directors and has participated in continuing education through organizations such as the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), including medical malpractice seminars.

Tom also mentors and supports other attorneys and law students. To stay current with changes in the law, he regularly attends conferences and reviews legal developments. This commitment helps ensure that his clients receive informed, up-to-date guidance.

Community Ties and
Personal Commitment

Tom lives in the Missouri City/Sugar Land area, where his family has been for over a decade. His connection to the area is personal: his children attended local schools, and his work reflects a desire to give back to the community that has supported his family. He is also passionate about education and takes pride in supporting scholarship opportunities for college students.

Outside of his work, Tom enjoys staying active: he used to run 10Ks regularly before a busy schedule slowed him down. He has a deep appreciation for music, whether it’s live concerts or theater, and values time spent outdoors, often on nature walks and trails.
